Yellow – It is most of the time a positive color in my life. But well, here the color yellow symbolizes envy, jealousy, exclusion. I also found that biblical yellow is linked to betrayal. And how many times as women of color have we trusted « allies » in vain? Just to finally realize that even them take us for their fabricated mirror.
Experimenting is fun. This is a selfie or as you could say with fancy words, a « self-portrait ». I took that picture just before starting 2019, spending the New Year with my love Sirine in Sfax. But the picture I took cut the mirror frame. A few days ago, I ask my dearest Sirine to send me a picture of the entire frame. And then I had fun with Photoshop and different apps.
Blue and Pink – They symbolize my inner peace, my faith, and my self-love that transcend a fabricated mirror and its reflection that is being imposed on us. Elhamdulillah.
